Terms
How this works.
These are the terms I work under. They're written plainly on purpose — if anything here isn't clear, call me on (928) 499‑9489 and I'll explain it.
Prices and quotes
The prices on the pricing page are the prices I charge. Before I start any work I count your photographs and confirm the exact total with you. If the count comes out in a different bracket than we expected, I contact you and wait for your go-ahead before continuing.
Prices can change over time, but the price I confirm for your job is the price you pay for that job.
Payment
I count your photographs and confirm the exact total with you first. Payment is due once you've agreed that figure, and scanning begins after that. I accept cash or Zelle.
You are never asked to pay before you know the price. If the figure isn't what you were expecting, you can take your photographs home again at no cost.
Turnaround
Most jobs are finished within one to three days of me receiving your photographs. Larger collections take longer, and I'll give you a realistic date once I've seen what you have. Those timings are honest estimates rather than guarantees.
Your photographs
I handle your photographs with care, keep them together, and return them in the order and container they arrived in. Scanning does not alter the print.
Restoration and colorization are done digitally, on the scanned copy. Your original photograph is never cut, cleaned, treated or altered — those services change the digital file only.
That said, old photographs are fragile, and some arrive already torn, stuck together, curled, or degraded. I'm not able to accept liability for damage that was already present, or for damage that occurs despite reasonable care when a photograph is too fragile to handle safely. If I think something is at risk, I'll tell you before I touch it and let you decide.
Because original photographs are irreplaceable, my liability for any loss or damage is limited to the amount you paid for the job.
Who owns what
Your photographs are yours and the scans of them are yours. I claim no ownership of your images and no right to use them. I won't publish them, post them, or show them as examples unless you specifically tell me I can.
You are responsible for having the right to have the photographs copied. I'll assume you do.
Your files after the job
Once you've received your USB drive and confirmed the files are all there, I delete my working copies. That means I'm not a backup — if you lose the drive later, I won't be able to send you another set unless you bought a second drive at the time. Keep a copy somewhere safe.
Cancelling and refunds
You can walk away at no cost any time before you pay, including after I've counted your photographs and quoted you.
If you've paid and change your mind before I've started scanning, I refund you in full. If I've already started, I refund the part I haven't done. Either way your photographs come straight back to you.
Unclaimed photographs
If a job is finished and I can't reach you, I'll keep your photographs safe and keep trying. Please don't leave them with me indefinitely — they belong with you.
